Quality Control of Black Specks in MCC

MCC is manufactured from purified wood pulp derived from trees. The main reasons of off-colored particles in MCC are the intrinsic components of the starting material and charred MCC due to heat in the drying process. These black specks are regarded as technically unavoidable particles (TUPs) and are harmless to human health. (IPEC TUPP Guide)
To supply products with excellent quality, we only use raw materials that meet our quality standards. Furthermore, the manufacturing process is strictly controlled to eliminate various possibilities of producing black specks during production. As for our final product, we monitor the number of foreign matters non-subjectively and scientifically by the Powder Inspection Equipment developed by Mingtai.

Benefits

Pharmaceutical Applications

In pharmaceutical and nutraceutical fields, it is primarily used as a binder/filler/diluent/disintegrant in tablet or capsule formulations in direct compression, dry granulation, or wet granulation process.

Food Applications

In food application, Microcrystalline Cellulose plays the role as an anti-caking agent, fat substitute, dietary fiber, diluent, or a carrier. Commonly seen applications are MCC in shredded cheese as an anti-caking agent; MCC in biscuits as calorie substitute and dietary fiber; MCC in spices as carriers that aid in anti-caking. The most used grades in food applications are M101, M102 and M105.

Personal Care Applications

The mild abrasiveness of Microcrystalline Cellulose provides excellent stable functionality in toothpaste, facial wash and other personal care products.
