Product Description

Neocel® Microcrystalline Colloidal Grade is a co-mixed blend of micro-crystalline
cellulose (Comprecel®) and sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC) medium
viscosity grade. Neocel® combines a water-insoluble cellulose with a water dispersible
organic hydrocolloid. It is prepared by chemical depolymerization of highly-purified
alpha cellulose. The crystalline portions of the fiber, after being subjected to wet
mechanical attrition, are co-processed with NaCMC to form the colloidal
microcrystalline cellulose. NaCMC serves as a protective colloid and aids in the
dispersion of the product.

Characteristics

  • Thixotropy achievable at levels as low as 1%
  • Heat stable viscosity
  • Stable viscosity over pH 3.5-11.0
  • Compatible with most water-soluble polymers and alcohols
  • Whitish, opaque dispersion
  • Odorless and tasteless; imparts smooth, creamy texture

  • Dispersion Methods

Suggested equipment for dispersion: NEO-C11 and NEO-C91F require a
planetary mixer or a high speed mixer.
